DESIGN & DEVELOPMENT SERVICE
HELP US HELP YOU
Been sitting on a great idea for the next tabletop masterpiece, but don't want to make it yourself? Work with Nervosa Games to create the game of your dreams. We will work with you through the whole process or just the bits you don't want to do yourself.
Our design and development methodology detailed below, details the services we can offer no matter what point in your project you find yourself.
PROTOTYPING
If you have an Idea for a game, but not the means to create it - we can help you construct your first playable prototype to see if it has potential.
Don't expect formal written rules or beautiful components during this phase. A good prototype only contains a small slice of the final game to determine if there is fun to be found in the full idea.
GAME DEVELOPMENT
Game Development takes a fully designed game and irons out all the wrinkles, balances all the resources and ensures every decision that a player could make is meaningful and fun.
Mechanically the game will not change during this step - short of small tweaks to make mechanics more accessible or removing redundant systems.
PROJECT BRIEFING AND SCOPE
Not every idea has to go into every game you create, most of the games you play have countless mechanics and ideas that were cut for time, space or even because they aren't fun.
Briefing and Scope are important pre-requisites to the game design process, as they define the metaphorical box that you'll be building you game within. Without this box, all games designers have the potential to spiral away from their original vision into an entirely different game altogether.
PLAYTESTING
Playtesting is important. Very important! Without it, that perfectly crafted and painstakingly unique aspect of your game might not work how you envision or intend.
We will happily playtest any game at any point within its development cycle and provide constructive and actionable feedback.
MECHANICAL GAME DESIGN
Need helping transcribing the idea in your head into a physical medium? During the Mechanical Game Design step, we'll create the game specified within the Brief and Scope stage.
This is still a rather early stage of game development, so if an idea doesn't pan out the way you imagined, or want to remove / add features, this is the perfect step to experiment.
REFINEMENT AND REVIEW
After everything else is the refinement step. Including; manuscript editing, ruleset structuring and layout are all important parts having players understand how to play and enjoying playing your game.
